• X rooms is the 3rd 'escape room' establishment I visited. The other 2 being mission escape games and escape the room. I didn't bother leaving a review for the other 2 because they didn't disappoint. However x room feels overly cheap. It's the equivalent of buying a cheap knock off.
  
  The room I played was escape the laboratory and the from the moment I walked in I knew I was going to be disappointed. The puzzles were hand written and the props were all cheap and seemed like things I can find around the house. Without giving out too much info about the room I there was a prop I recognized because I own one and I remember it was 5 dollars on amazon.
  
  Overall very poorly made puzzles as well as cheap props in the room. Would not revisit until serious overhaul.

• Last night we went to this location to do the Laboratory game. This is a low budget horrible version of the better game at two other locations in Manhattan. Be wary. The laboratory clues were nonsense none could be gotten. We made it only about halfway through the process in an hour and that was with a bit of help via walkie talkie. The employees barely speak Engllish so that was super frustrating. Avoid this place and go to the real Escape the Room. I was there 6 months ago and it blows this place away in realism, fun clues, excitement etc. This was a complete disaster. Avoid

• Honestly was not much of an enjoyable experience. We did the laboratory, and vast majority of puzzles were lock-based. The game master was good, and so was their lobby, but the set design felt pretty basic. Puzzles also felt forced as well. Didn't feel immersive. Escape rooms are meant to be immersive experiences and just didn't feel that the laboratory. We escaped the room with 1.5 minutes to spare.

• I played the lab room with a few friends. Supposedly this was the hardest room but compared to Escape the Room, I think this was still slightly easier.
  
  The room is pretty minimal, which is fine. The host could've explained the story with more enthusiasm. The group gets a walkie talkie and you ask for clues through it.
  
  Although the puzzles here were pretty fun, there were just way too many people. We had 12 people in this room and there was really only one puzzle to solve at a time. So everyone just gathered around a table and just watched a few people try to solve it. Some people have to end up sitting out. There were just way too many people. I'd recommend there be more than one puzzle to solve at a time.

• My husband and I had a lot of fun and I recommend trying out the experience for yourself.
  
  We were in the Abandoned Lab: It is supposed to be for 12 people and we were the only people in our session.
  
  Unlike what you'd expect from the pictures: the room is super minimal. Decorated with super plain Ikea furniture but the puzzles are challenging and fun!
  
  It only gets three stars because there really was a lack of communication from staff about the process:
  
  1) we were told everything was a puzzle but it turned out there were keys that you had to use to even get to some of the puzzles -- we didn't look for any keys because we were told everything was a puzzle to solve
  
  2) one of the critical puzzles requires that you USE one of the elements in the room -- except that element has a sign on it that says "do not touch" -- turns out that isn't the case -- you have to use it along with another element (sorry not trying to be vague but don't want to give away any of the fun!) to solve a puzzle -- they just don't want you to drink it (I know because I asked staff what they meant!)
  
  We will definitely go back and play another room...but now I know that I should look for EVERYTHING possible and not pay attention to the signage because it isn't really translated properly.
