Don't let the unassuming building and entry fool you, this escape room experience is awesome. We did The Bayou, and it was clever, fun and interesting. The set design and trinkets in the rooms were super cool, definitely lots of attention to detail. And the self-imposed access to clues when needed was nice. The video that starts the experience gives some fun background to the story. We also appreciated it just being a party and not having to try to solve with strangers. Overall a really fun experience!! Several cool pubs nearby as well.

I'm torn on this review. On the one hand London Fog is a very imaginative escape room filled with many interesting puzzles and mechanics that stay away from the basic padlock motif. On the other hand, the execution of some of those puzzles is abysmal. Imaginative puzzles can be incredibly finicky. It is never a good sign when a group completely understands how to complete a puzzle but due to its implementation they can't get the sensors to trigger after several attempts. If the puzzle design is not bulletproof, there really needs to be an override switch for the puzzle attendant to trigger the puzzle completion. Its also never a good sign if the puzzle attendant has to say something (for a different puzzle) to the effect of "You did the puzzle right but the key item release didn't trigger so I'll just credit you with finding it at the end of the game." Both of these are forgivable, but what is not is when the lock to a critical room resets because a door is closed, but the mechanism to unlock it is not reset causing it to be unresponsive to inputs. This resulted in 25 minutes of back and forth with the room attendant claiming that "we need to figure out how to reopen it" and "we must have got lucky the first time". Only after all 7 of us were standing around trying to figure how to get back into the final room did he clear the status on the mechanism so the puzzle became responsive again. There are a lot of great puzzles in this room, but the execution is unreliable. I truly hope they improve on the puzzle designs, as the room had the potential to be amazing.

Entrapment has some of the most well designed escape rooms in San Diego! I came with a group of 5, which is a good size group for this room, London Fog. We have done about 10 other escape rooms around SD as well as The Bayou and Fogmore Manor at Entrapment in the past which are both very creative as well. I'll just say that London fog is a little bit harder than the first two escape rooms in the series and requires some good teamwork, but all around fun!

The Entrapment has the best escape rooms in San Diego, hands down. Not only are the rooms exquisitely decorated, but the puzzles are a fantastic mix of high and low tech. Challenging, but not frustratingly difficult.

All 3 rooms have an overarching story that relate them to one another, and that attention to detail makes it more enjoyable to play, and also highlights how much thought, care, and dedication the creators put into the design.
Do yourself a favor and play all 3 rooms!
I have done 2 of their 3 rooms and they are in the top 5 rooms in San Diego. The rooms have modern "second generation" style puzzles and great effects and sound. The rooms have cohesive stories within themselves and there is even an overarching story across all the rooms. Don't let the location and front lobby scare you off, the rooms are some of the best around.

Great experience, second time doing an escape room and this by far was the favorite. Went for my husband's birthday so it was a great surprise. Host was awesome and the overall atmosphere of the story line was interesting and well laid out.
