Came here last night with a group of friends. We had signed up for the "Top Secret" room and didn't know much about it when we started, other than that it was an escape the room activity. We get in, the explain what's supposed to happen then lock the door. We spent 20 minutes on one clue before finally asking for a hint. The next 40 minutes go by quick as a wink and before we know it we've lost. The guy running the room came in to explain what was happening with the clues and walk us through all the steps- if we had made it farther some stuff we wouldn't have figured out due to its trickiness, even if we had more time.
I asked the man - what's the success rate with this room? and he said 10%!! 10%! Meaning most, nearly all, fail! What is that? People pay to come out and be challenged but not stumped. Answers and clues shouldn't be too easy and not a "gimme" but challenging doesn't mean impossible. And this room sounds nearly impossible. (Though there was a modicum of redemption when we learned that at least most others lost as well!) While we waited we saw other groups complete other rooms and come out smiling. The company website needs to make it clear that there are levels of difficulty and, in the case of such a low completion rate, perhaps rethink this one.
