• My husband and I went to Escape Room 101 on 3 consecutive weeks. This facility is in a great location just off Mayo Blvd and Loop 101. The lobby waiting room is rather small, but clean and uncluttered. We met our gamemasters, Sean and Asia. They were extremely nice and welcoming. Our first room was Cowboy Mobster, a western themed room. This was our favorite room. Loved the saddle seats at the bar! Every time we solved a puzzle, we heard applause thru the monitor! That cracked us up and added to the enjoyment. Our second room was Baker Street, a Sherlock Holmes victorian themed room. Although we liked this room and had fun, it seemed a little harder (to us) than the Cowboy room. But the decor was very realistic and fun. Our third room was The Hangover. This room was apparently based on the movie of the same name. I never saw the movie, so I can't say if that would have helped us at all. This room was fun with fries and wings all over the floor! This room had a couple of puzzles that we have never come across before, even after doing over 50 rooms. This room seemed like it might be a little small for 7 people. Might be better with 4 or 5. Sean was a superb gamemaster who knew exactly what we wanted from the rooms and happily gave it to us. Thanks, Sean and Asia, too, for making this a top notch experience!

• I had never done an escape room before, but the friends we were with did two other escape rooms. So, I was trying to decide which escape room to do in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. I did see that Escape Room 101 didn't have a ton of reviews on google, but they were all good. So, we went with it and did the most popular one Cowboy Mobster, which was the "easiest." We didn't get out, but it was great. It seemed really hard, but surprisingly, we did figure out the clues. And they did help us if we were on the right track, but doing something wrong (ie., we had a code right, but we just needed to reset the lock.) So they are watching you and do give you baby nudges in the right direction if you are just totally stalled out. I totally recommend this place. Not easy at all, but not impossible either!

• This was our second Escape Room. We did the Cowboy Mobster room. I find that every family member finds their strength and contributes.
  
  As an aside when I tell people I have done escape rooms they often tell me they are claustrophobic and would not be able to do an escape room....
  
  You are NOT locked in and it is not scary-
  
  Can't wait to go back and try the Sherlock Holmes Room!
