PDX familyFunky Laboratory was so fun for our family with teens and a ‘tween. The room decor was really creative and the puzzles were clever and challenging. It was great to get out during the pandemic and enjoy ourselves in a Covid-clean place. Staff was super...helpful with clues and encouragement.

edanFirst, I'll say that our game master was great. I can't remember their name, but they stayed in character, and they also gave good hints that still made you think.
Overall, my biggest gripe with the room is with the amount of locks. I can understand having a lock or two in a room, but I think this one had around 10, which kind of ruined the room for me.
The other puzzles were fun, and I liked that there were some elements that i haven't seen in other rooms i've done before.
I'd recommend it overall for someone that doesn't mind locks and wants a harder game, otherwise i'd look for a room with more advanced and creative puzzles.March 21, 2020

RachelMy wife and I have done more escape rooms than we can count all over the country and across the world. Although we often share positive experiences with friends, we rarely (shame on us) take the time to write a review. The wizard’s apprentice Ryan was such a fantastic host that I was inspired to change that. His approach to setting the scene and preparing us for the room started from the moment he opened the door to let us in the building. His character and story telling ability set this escape room experience apart from the many others that we have done. The room did not disappoint. Although we were close, we did not escape, but it was not a frustrating experience because it wasn’t impossible, no faulty equipment or technology, and very logical connections between puzzles and solutions. The story line was carried throughout and by the end I was believing in magic. Thank you Ryan for a memorable experience.

Edmund A.5 FRIGGIN STARS! We did alien zoo, and were so happy with the progression and NON-traditional puzzles! Staff was awesome and welcoming. We've done 85 rooms, mostly in Southern California, and this definitely gave us a good time, happy to add to our list of recommended rooms, must do for Portland!
