Description:
During the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, criminal mastermind and first documented serial killer H.H. Holmes built and operated a labyrinth-style hotel on the corner of South Wallace & 63rd Street. It was designed as a killing trap, whereby his guests became murder victims. Known as The Murder Castle, it is believed Holmes killed over 200 people there.
