Love love LOVEEEE the Protocol Zero room!

On the website before you book- it does give you a warning that this room is meant to be played in very low lighting - and thats what made me SO excited! I've personally never played a room that diminished one of my core senses like that and I was totally up for the challenge! Going in I knew I was getting an escape room experience like I have never had before. That being said- and without spoiling to much- you do find multiple sources of light throughout the room to help you team and pretty early on too! The theme was followed to tea and my group got to experience a variety of puzzles that tested not our thought process but our teamwork and communication as well. Over all, we got out with only seconds left! Highly recommended!
Just to start, we have played several escape rooms in the past (at other places) and we were able to solve the room with minimal help. We brought someone with us that has never done one and we were really talking up how much fun they are.

That being said, we were not able to solve the Protocol Zero Room.
Because? The room is TOO DARK! Can't see anything. Can't tell colors, shapes, can't see letters and numbers. Can't find anything. Sure, they give you a flashlight. ONE. We had only 3 people (2 of which are over 50) and we simply could not see. One person had the flashlight and the other 2 were rendered useless. The details are good (from what I could tell) and there are a few jump scares but it's so dark that something would fall on our arm (for example) and we had no idea what it was. We would find some switch that indicated turning on power or lights but it was minimal. I could understand if the room is dark until you find a switch that lights up the entire room, but that never happened.
We had to ask for clues over and over. Finally, the game ended after 60 minutes and the employee came in and told us we were close but missed the last few things. We complained that it's too dark and only one flashlight is not enough, and she said oh well you could of asked for more flashlights. What??? How would we know that? Why not put several in the room when it begins or offer that before we start?
It was a waste of money and just a bad experience for all. I doubt the person that was in there for their first time would ever want to do another one.
Escape rooms are taking the United States by storm! The goal of the game is to find a way out of a locked room within the given time limit. Work as a team to solve logical puzzles, uncover clues, and follow the storyline to unravel the mystery. Each riddle brings you one step closer to the ultimate escape! Escape room games are great for a night out with friends, a date, a birthday celebration, or a team-building activity in the United States.
