We played the Speakeasy Nouveau as a family. It was my husband and I and our two 10 year old boys.geisentft
We have played a couple of escape rooms in the past as a family, so we have a little experience. This rooms is by far our very favorite ever. The story, variety of clues and puzzles, and props were all very well done. We also love the fact that its more than one room, you are led into more rooms with more clues which adds so much to the excitement!
We found the clues sufficiently challenging, as we had to ask for a couple of hints along the way. The number of puzzles was perfect as we escaped with literally no time to spare.
We had such a great time we came back the next night, while we were still in town, and brought another family along with us. The eight of us solved the Diner room. Again, great fun, great puzzles, and a large enough space so we all fit very comfortably and had plenty of different puzzles to work on simultaneously.
They are also very competitively priced. Less expensive than some rooms we have visited, yet so much better!
We highly recommend Quicksand Escape Games.
Me and my family booked a trip to the Quicksand escape room while on our family vacation in San Diego. I came recommended from a friend and did not disappoint. I had not been to an escape room before so did not know what to expect. It was engaging, challenging, and a lot of fun. Would highly recommend for anyone that likes a challenge and is looking for something different/fun to do.Travel
The location is right in the middle of busy pacific beach. The hosts are amazing and extremely accommodating as we were running late. They were very professional and knowledgeable and absolutely made the experience so much better! We attacked the Speakeasy Nouveau and got out with minutes to spare. There were a few minor hiccups however the hint system and the quick response by Andy kept the game flowing! All in all, Quicksand Escape is one of my top favorite escape rooms! I've completed The Diner, the Speakeasy, and Chinatown to date!DDang429
Truly a blast! I have only had experience with one escape room before - my office did the whole "team bonding" thing. Anywhoo! This time I got a group of friend together and the room/experience by far exceeded the first.Sarah H.
A few points to highlight...
The room - the room itself was very well done. The decor and space. Something I didn't love about the first escape room was how small and crowded it felt. We did the "Chinatown" theme and they did a great job giving a restaurant feel.
The clues/ puzzle pieces - what really set this place apart was the clues! Again, comparing it to my last experience, there were far less obvious clues which really made us think and work as a team. More importantly the type of puzzle pieces they engineered were phenomenal and extremely creative. Not to give anything away, but you really have to exercise all options with everything in the room touching, aligning, and pushing. Nothing came too easy with this room!
Customer service - the girl who assisted us was polite and sweet. Plus, the few times we did have to ask for hints, she gave us the perfect nudge in the right direction.
All in all a great experience. I will defiantly be forming a new team and heading back soon!
Such a great time! 3 of us did the Chinatown Room and it was so much fun! We barely escaped but I think it would have been better if we had a couple more people. The 3 of us had done a few escape rooms before, but this was by far the most fun. The room was decorated in a way that made you feel like you were really in a restaurant in Chinatown.Elyssa B.
The owner Greg was also super accommodating as the same afternoon of our reservation we were going to run late. He was really nice and put us in at a later spot, which was still open. He didn't have to do that, so we really appreciate it. Staff was also very nice. The clues were also really helpful when we needed them.
Can't wait to come back to do the other rooms!!
It was the first time for me and my five friends, so we didn't really know what to expect but we were excited to try! We truly had a great time! First few minutes it was intimidating, then it became fun and exciting. Highly recommended! We escaped the Speakeasy with a little over a minute to spare and we'll be back to escape the Diner!Sherona
