Read all reviewsWe had our Escape Room Group back in town this past weekend, so we decided to give District Eat And Play a second chance (our first experience wasn't bad, just disappointing because we didn't get to do an Escape Room for my birthday, which was why we originally visited.
Dan A.
This time we went on a Saturday afternoon, and we had food, drinks, played the games, and were able to do Room 113.
From the moment we walked in the door, every employee we encountered was as friendly as can be. From the employees who signed us up for the escape room, to the girl who was our Game Master in the Escape Room, to the guy who took our pictures, and the employees who took our food and liquor orders... everyone was smiling, friendly, and helpful.
We tried more of the food as well. This time we had the chicken tenders, fries, and the taco pizza which were all delicious, and very reasonably priced.
Since very few reviews are dealing with the Escape Rooms themselves, I would love to be the first review to give some real feedback on the escape room we completed (Room 133). This was our groups 35th Escape Room. First and foremost, the decor in the room was A+. The room looks and feels so legit, that it becomes very easy to really immerse yourself into the storyline. The puzzles were fun, and totally solvable. Once or twice the storyline becomes a bit linear, but there are other things in the room that the other players can be investigating at least, so they aren't just standing there waiting. It did feel like the room had fewer puzzles than what we are used to, but a couple of those puzzles were new puzzles that we had not stumbled upon before, and it definitely had sufficient puzzles to keep everyone in the room occupied. There was 1 puzzle component that was being a bit stubborn, which actually caused us to miss breaking the room's record by 1 minute, but the Game Master advised that they are aware of the issue, so I suspect that it will be getting tweaked in the near future. All in all, I would say that this room was just "a lot of fun to play", and it left us in a great mood for the rest of our visit.
After this visit, it is safe to say that we will be returning soon! So glad to see a business like this breathing some new life into Oveido Mall. It desperately needs it!
Description:
It was supposed to be the perfect road trip; you and your friends traveling the iconic Route 66 through America’s heartland. It soon became apparent, however, that “heartland” is synonymous with desert wasteland. A string of dive motels and sketchy diners has left your group wondering how this stretch of highway ever became so famous. Only thoughts of Southern California keep you going down this godforsaken “Main Street of America.”As gas stations become more scarce and the needle gets closer to empty, you’re forced to pull over at a filling station that looks like it’s been standing since the invention of the automobile. There’s no sign of an attendant anywhere. You begin pumping gas as one of your group goes behind the building to look for a bathroom. Moments later you hear a scream and something slams into the back of your head.
That’s the last thing anyone in your group remembers before you all wake up in a horrifying motel room. No one knows how you got here, and you appear to be locked in. Worse yet, it’s apparent from your surroundings that you need to get out before whoever put you here comes back.
