Good story lines, reasonably challenging, very interactive, and one of the hosts (Wes) is great....much sass, very funny

Time to panic!! Bring along your IQ and a handful of your sleuthiest and most fun-loving friends, and you will enjoy one of coolest experiences to be found in SF!

Armed with a Living Social voucher, 6 of us booked our visit to the Sicko Room, a dank sex-themed room (most definitely for adults only, they aren't kidding about the age limit - not for the innocent or easily offended!). The backstory was that we were kidnapped by a local nympho, trapped in his janky studio apartment, and were given 1 hour to escape by solving various puzzles around the room with the use of clues you locate or are hidden in plain sight. If we couldn't solve the puzzles and escape in an hour, we would be dispatched by the nympho - yikes! We had tons of fun and escaped with 10 minutes to spare! This will be the quickest hour of your life.
A couple pointers and clarifications, based on our own experience and limited knowledge walking in (wanting to keep everything a surprise), specific to the Sicko Room only:
-The room is dark and there is a small element of surprise, but nothing scary. This is not a haunted house in disguise, this is an intellectual challenge. The theme simply makes for a wonderfully immersive environement.
-Our guide West, a quirky dude with a cool sense of humor who fit the place perfectly, answered a lot of questions beforehand and gave us helfpul information (such as the Sicko Room has a 70% success rate for escapees). Treat your hosts and the environment with respect, and you will receive it in return. Don't be a douche, this isn't Pleasure Island - you aren't slapping down money in exchange for playful destruction.
-The physical element is minimal - you are standing for an hour but active the whole time. You aren't required to do anything more strenuous than reaching up or bending over. Best advice is wear comfy shoes, and clothes you can easily move around in, but no need for anything special beyond that.
-You can bail early if necessary (more likely because of an emergency rather than fear or frustration), and your host is reachable via walkie talkie for clues and questions.
A few small hiccups aside (a couple puzzles in our room didn't quite work as they were intended to, but it didn't take away from the experience), we had a great time! We all talked about favorite elements afterward, and definitely want to return to try out the Prison Break.
A truly unique entertainment option, like being in a twisted movie Highly recommended for the open-minded and adventurous folk!
I think this is a great room for beginners.

We did the Cemetery and it is beautiful. My husband and I got stuck on the first lock because we couldn't find the "puzzle" and had to wait until the 25 minute mark to ask for a hint. Once we found it we blew through the rest of the game in 18 minutes. I should mention we've done over 40 escape games, so we've seen many of the puzzles before.
It was very hot in the room and the fog makes it feel even more stuffy, not exactly the cool night air I have felt in real cemeteries at night...so it takes away from the ambience a little. Granted it was in the 90's today so that may not always be the case. And note at this time they have no bathroom, so luckily we arrived over 30 minutes early giving us time to walk to the public restrooms a few blocks away.
Escape rooms are taking the United States by storm! The goal of the game is to find a way out of a locked room within the given time limit. Work as a team to solve logical puzzles, uncover clues, and follow the storyline to unravel the mystery. Each riddle brings you one step closer to the ultimate escape! Escape room games are great for a night out with friends, a date, a birthday celebration, or a team-building activity in the United States.
