Escape game: Civil War
I did the Breakout KC Civil War room in Lawrence which I assume is similar. It was so immersive, down to having to do it by lantern light. I want to do that one again even though I have done it once because it was so fun. We did not breakout, we were working on the last puzzle.Crystal
Escape game: Broke, Broker, Broken
On January 16th I made a reservation to attend "the escape artist" at 8pm on January 18th with a bachelor party of 8. When we arrived on the 18th the lights were off, doors locked, and no one inside. When I asked the beautician next door she advised to check the board downstairs to see if "they" were in. We checked and the clothes pin marked EA stated they were out. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I attempted to call several times and even left a couple of voicemails and received no response. This was at the time of our reservation and 2 hours before their listed closing time. I have called everyday for the past 7 days and still haven't received a response. This company is absolutely horrible in their customer service and I wouldn't wish this treatment on anyone.Daniel Straub
Escape game: Treasure Island
I went with a group of 8 and we did the Treasure Room. I won't delve into any details of the actual room but there were a few discrepancies which hopefully will be fixed for future customers. First, we were not told that some of the locks had to be jiggled or unlocked in just the right way to unlock. Wasted a lot of time because of this. Second, a couple of the locks were not on the right objects. Luckily we figured it out but a little more attention to set up before groups go would have been nice. The apology we got for both incidences seemed to be glazed over but hey, maybe the worker was having a bad day so I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Overall, we did have a good time. Look out for the Groupon if you want to save quite a bit!Jenna
Escape game: The Neighbor
The Neighbor room was good. I was frustrated with the fact that they do not tell you, before you start, that if you don't get out, you will not be told what you missed. Our worker told us we were about 3/4 the way finished. If we would have known that we would not be told how to achieve the goal, we would've asked for more clues during the hour. Very frustrated with the ending experience.Jon
Escape game: The Neighbor
Very disappointed with the experience my family and I had. We were given no background info about what we were trying to find in our room, The Neighbor. The room itself was tiny with paper thin walls. We could hear all the traffic in the waiting room/lobby.Tara
We felt it was just a room full of locks. Over ten locks with no rhyme or reason for each one. Just felt like a terrible array of puzzle after puzzle that led to nothing, just another lock with another clue for something new. Nothing was explained as to why each puzzle was there and the purpose. We had opened ALL the locks and still didn’t know what we were trying to figure out.
I really wanted to like this place knowing how awesome the prices were but the whole experience was disappointing. Poor staffing, lackluster puzzles and terrible room design. I have been to 5 different escape rooms in The KC-Metro area and this is by far the worst.
Escape game: The Grey Project
Very fun!! We escaped with less than a minute left from the grey matter room and it was awesome! The game master was extremely helpful with his clues. Cannot wait to come back and try out the other rooms.Stephanie
