This review comes from a group that has completed about 20 escape rooms across the nation, including in cities such as Orlando, St. Louis, Las Vegas. We have encountered some so-so rooms, some decent rooms, and some amazing rooms.Sarah
What we LOVE - They don’t mix you with strangers in the rooms! That is awesome!
This room, the Zombie Lab, was a little bit of a disappointment for us. We had previously done, over several years, both the Bank Heist and the Western room at this venue. The western themed room has the best theming of them all, as it is the most immersive, though even there you’ll see odds and ends that appear to be incomplete, like a certain ceiling tile installation/work-around that looks sloppy.
First off - TONS of locks. Locks, locks, locks! That is typical of many entry-level rooms. The puzzles ARE fun, but not many of the puzzles relate to the stories! It seems like the rooms are decorated, and then filled with a hodgepodge of random puzzles that don’t actually contribute to the theme or the story. You’re walking around thinking, “How is this puzzle related to the story at all?”
Another aspect that is a bit of a letdown: Having to watch an intro video in the lobby in front of other groups. It’s just awkward standing around a television next to the counter to watch a poorly written (and full of grammatical errors and misspellings!) video before entering the room.
Lastly, it would be nice if the employees conveyed some enthusiasm for the job at hand. The instruction segment given to each group by the employee is too long and rushed. It’s a LOT of talking for them, and they talk fast to get through it, which is just annoying for everybody. The instructions should be more concise.
Our favorite to least favorite room at his ensue: #1 Wild West (We were told the owners built this one themselves - They’ve obviously learned a lot from running the other two rooms) #2 The Bank Robbery #3 Zombie Lab
Had a fun time doing Dracula an the other side. The other side just jumped into my top 5. Josh our games master was really cool. Diffidently recommend checking out these rooms.David
I just did The Other Side and it was amazing! People who love stranger things will love this room! The room looks amazing and the puzzles were like little nods to the 80s. Shout out to Olivia our GM! Also Chris was dope!!!Madai R.
We escaped from "The Other Side" at Fox in a Box. The room was well done with a nice variety of tasks and puzzles supported by good room design and tech. There was a challenging use of transitional spaces that demanded some brainpower. It wasn't just an easy stroll to the other side.Keith And Betty R.
This Fox in the Box location has game masters that are invested in you having a good time. They are positive, enthusiastic, and genuinely seem happy to be working there.
Definitely do this new room and if you haven't had the pleasure of doing the other rooms here, they have a twofer Tuesday special for their older rooms.
Laughable is a good way to describe this business. I was trying to surprise my girlfriend for a birthday date and was surprised to see that this Escape Room charged $70/person. I thought to myself, that's quite expensive. So I had written a review about how expensive it was and the manager responded saying they NEVER charge $75 a person. The picture I have clearly shows 2 people for $141, I guess it's not $75 but still close.Alain
They then had written to me and discussed why it was that expensive. Mind you I'm a paying customer. I had already bought the experience even though it was expensive, I had found a cheaper option. However, they did not care if I paid or not. They just kept saying bring more people and it's cheaper per person. Okay, so bring you more money makes it cheaper, I guess that makes sense.
I asked if a refund was possible, they said no all sales are final.
So I ask if I can add two more people and to charge my card. They respond saying you booked the room and it fits 7 people, when I get there I can pay for the rest.
I said ok. And was just waiting till the day of the experience.
Couple days go by and all of a sudden I get an email saying I'm being denied service for my malicious intent. All I did was point out how expensive it was.
So I asked for a refund and they say they can't and DEMANDED to have my address to send me a check.
There's a couple things wrong with this:
1. Were in the 21st century, we've figured out how to refund people's credit cards.
2. Asking for my address to send a check? That sounds fishy. Almost like they want to avoid the refund in the system to not look bad.
I did not want to provide my address to a business that has taken a paying customers money and has now refused the service. So they said too bad. If you want, there's a check here waiting for you or you can cancel through your bank.
Doesn't seem like good customer service to me.
I had asked why she was being so unprofessional and she just kept saying I was a liability.
I'm a liability for writing a review based off there pricing.
As funny and as ridiculous as this story may seem, it's true. I honestly couldn't believe the service received as a paying customer. I knew the prices were high but still took decided to pay it to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday.
And instead of the manager thinking of changing my mind and providing a great experience to change my review down the road about price, I'm harassed and denied entry. That's the last time I ever spend a penny at this place. Now I have to dispute through my bank this ridiculous charge because they refuse to refund me the normal way.
My group had completed all of the rooms at Fox in a Box and were so excited to hear they were opening a new room this year - Zodiac. We came as soon as we were able to find a date, and it did not disappoint. Because it’s so new, there are still a few small technical difficulties being worked out, but it didn’t take away from the experience at all. Libby quickly came over the intercom to apologize when something didn’t work right and helped get things quickly back on track. She was a spirited, fun game master.mcpK2943RG
This was the most advanced room they have in terms of design - most of the others are all lock-based puzzles whereas zodiac has some newer technology. As with all their rooms, the set design is great, and this one was appropriately creepy without being actually scary.
I hope they will continue to change out their rooms so we can come back some day!
