So excited to have a new entertainment option in Chino Hills! The owners were friendly and fun to chat with, the decor impressive and authentic, and the game was difficult but SO MUCH fun! We managed to beat the Government Secrets room with just over a minute to spare. This was my first escape room experience and it was a fantastic one! I can't wait to go back when the other rooms are completed. If you like escape rooms, I highly recommend trying this one!Erin
My 3rd local Escape Room experience and I have to say this was really cool! They did an awesome job with the decor and the room itself was well thought out and kept us interested! We were greeted by the owner and creator of the rooms! He was nice and welcoming. Overall the whole experience was great. Of the three rooms to choose from we did "Government Secrets" skill level was moderate lots of communication between participants is key! I would come back to this location to do the other two rooms and anymore in the future.Rachel
Had a great time with only 9 minutes left! We got it. Very exciting. Tried the Government Secrets. The Egyptian room looks pretty cool too.Lorraine
We went to Hollywood Escape house and did the Woman in the Attic room. My wife and I have done about 50 escape rooms, and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had in any room.Brent Pope
First, they accommodated a last minute booking that made our game start 30 minutes late, totally unacceptable.
Second, the explanation of the room was almost non-existent. We had to ask the game master what the objective of the room was, as she forgot to tell us.
Third, when the game master reset our room, she left the first crucial clue in the 2nd part of the room, so we struggled while looking for that clue for about 10 minutes until the game master realized what had happened, and then she just told us the answer to 2 of the puzzles in the first part of the room, so we never got to do those 2 puzzles.
Fourth, another puzzle was wrapped in a chain that had to be unlocked, but when we grabbed it, the chain just fell off, so another puzzle we did not get to do.
Fifth, after we escaped, when I mentioned all of the things that had gone wrong so far, the game master offered to give us 15% off on another room. We had to wait 30 minutes, and then once we did get in, the experience was totally ruined, and they offered us about a $4.50 discount: not nearly enough.
Sixth, I even gave them another chance to set things right by sending them an email explaining our experience. There was absolutely no reply, so either someone just deleted the message so that management did not see it, or they saw it and just did not care. This left me with no choice other than to make this terrible experience public on every forum where escape room people might go to warn them of the severely subpar experience that may await you at the Hollywood Escape House.
Just to recap: room started 30 minutes late, clues left in wrong room, 3 puzzles that we did not get to do because of incorrect room reset, only offered $4.50 discount to make up for poor experience, and no response from management. Shame on you, Hollywood Escape House!
My group of four decided to do the Wanted: Dead or Alive, the western theme. The difficulty is listed as a medium, and we barely escaped! Our game master was really patient with us and we enjoyed the game a lot. I've done 50+ rooms and the quality in the room is there! My friends and I will continue to do more of your rooms.Paulene L.
We have completed two of their rooms and had a great time in both. We have their third room booked for this weekend and can't wait!David M
