An escape room experience in itself is always an adventure. But when the theme requires you to indulge in an unusual, exciting and possibly a little dangerous activity, no one can say no!
I'm a longtime VR enthusiast and have been following the ups and downs of the industry for years. Unfortunately, VR has been a disappointment and I've been waiting for someone to bring great hardware and content together, and give me a reason to believe again. Enter, Sandbox VR.Joe M.
They call themselves a "holodeck" so, as a Star Trek purist, my expectations are sky high. I better feel like I'm knee deep in a Klingon swamp or spending a weekend in Risa with some lovely green ladies, or else I'll be disappointed.
Well, after playing BOTH Sandbox experiences, I can say that my mind is completely BLOWN. It's by far the best VR experience I've had to date, especially if you're used to being a floating head on a disorienting roller coaster demo. This is NOT that. You move in the environment with your pals as perfectly mapped, MOCAP'd characters so there's no sense of feeling dizzy. The haptics make it feel like those zombies are really about to eat my face! It's practically an otherworldly experience that you have to see the believe.
While there's currently a limited amount of content that's focused primarily on horror/survival themes, it's only a matter of time before we can take a pilates class or travel beyond the stars in VR. I, for one, came to play. Bring it on Sandbox!
There were 3 adults and 3 minors in our group. It was super fun. 60 minutes went by super quick. Originally we thought there was only one room and we spent over 40 minutes in just that one room. There was a total of 3 rooms. We used the hint button 3 times. I highly recommend trying this out. The sole employee there was nice.J T.
Alexander and Danny were great! We did the King Arthur room and it was so much fun. Support local businesses and have fun doing itJasmine N.
Their new King Arthur room is amazing!Thiago S.
Amazing puzzles and lots of surprises.Yousef
We did the King Arthur room. The decorations were great and the puzzle were pretty cool. Some of them were a bit confusing and we needed some hints. But we enjoyed every second of it.
6 of us did the Wizard room challenge which was not easy but we made it through the three rooms in 56 minutes The place is a little worn but clean and the guide was helpful It can take him awhile to respond to the hint call This was my first experience so I cannot compare to others but I will do it again Fun engaging group activity and a great way to spend an hour before dinner The parking is awful Go to garage on 16th and HoffTerrithetripp
