Don't worry: this is not a history lesson, so you won't need to write a report about what happened in 1861 or remember the names of all British kings. In these escape rooms, you will be transported to a different era. A meaningful plot will make your heart race a little faster, and the atmosphere will stimulate the thought process. Will you change the course of history?
I went to EscapeSF with 4 other friends to do the Blind Tiger room. I've done about 15-20 escape rooms total at this point and it solidly lands in the middle in terms of enjoyment. We escaped with a little over 10 minutes left.Connie
The setup was pretty cool but I felt that the puzzles were a little rudimentary and seemingly a little random at times. They also did not really tie together all that well in my honest opinion. We also had quite a few components of the room that were broken when we went which further detracted from the quality of the experience. All in all, I still enjoyed the room, but I don't feel that it is as good as other reviews would lead you to think it is.
My friends and I have done both the Houdini and Roosevelt rooms by Palace Games. They're incredible, challenging, and so much fun! The production quality is spectacular. The staff is amazing. Check them out!Erin
This was an awesome escape room! Very well done, no red herrings, and an appropriate amount of encouragement from the Game Master (Dillion). The puzzles were great and plentiful. The room was very professional and functioned as designed. There were no cheesy puzzles or tricks that were stupid, as sometimes happen. Just a Grade-A experience. And no, we didn't solve it by the time limit, but they let us continue, and we got out about 10 minutes later. The first escape room we didn't complete, but probably still the most fun and most challenging. Also, the room was well-lite, so you can see without straining. I've been in escape rooms where you can't read the combination locks because it was so dark...very frustrating...but that didn't happen here. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.Darryl Bailes
A word of caution...don't leave anything in your vehicle while you do the escape room. Our van was broken into and we lost some stuff. It was our fault, we had been told earlier in the week in San Francisco not to leave anything visible in your vehicle, or they will smash and grab...and it happened to us. Live and learn. Good luck!
Wow! Every experience I have had with Palace Games so far has been exceptional! The staff is amazing, the stories behind the puzzles are fun, and most of all, the puzzles are challenging! I have been here twice, once for the Houdini Room and once for the Roosevelt Room. Both times were fun, but I preferred the Roosevelt Room slightly more than the Houdini Room. I might also add that we escaped both times! We didn't need any hints in the Roosevelt Room and we still managed to escape in 72 minutes. One thing that was exceptional about our run in the Roosevelt Room was our host, Alan. He was funny and very helpful. If you are into escape rooms, I would definitely check out Palace Games. Their rooms are elaborate and very fun! They are making a an Edison room, so stay tuned.Kathryn
We came here on New Year's Eve to submit ourselves to one last challenge for the year, and we sure got it! We skipped right to the Roosevelt Room and were impressed with the design, intricacy and overall production quality. It was cool that the story was also designed with the history of the Palace of Fine Arts in mind. Will be back to try out the Houdini Room!Erica
I had a great time. The attention to detail is awesome and the puzzles are very thoughtfully set up. Also got a little bit of a history lesson and got to know about all the wonderful people that this room pays tribute to.Anil
Also from what my friends tell me this is the best escape room they've been to.
